Payments/Pricing

How do I reserve you for my date?

All dates are reserved once I receive your deposit

Let’s Begin!

If I cancel my shoot, will I receive my deposit back?

Unfortunately no. Deposits are used to reserve your date. Once I’ve reserved your date I do not accept new clients for your date.

Are there any additional charges for me to receive my photos?

I charge a one-time flat rate for your pictures which are taken at the location of your choice. No added sitting fees, special effect fees or huge prices for portraits. The price quoted does include the photo shoot, and your personalized USB or CD containing the finalized images.

What types of payments do you accept?

Currently I accept cash, checks, credit cards, and paypal.

Starting the process

Do I need to pay a deposit?

Yes please. In order to secure your session date I do require a deposit. This is a non-refundable fee.

What should I wear?

This is an important consideration. First, you must stay true to who you are. Be comfortable. Then…kick it up just a tiny notch! I encourage my clients to pick a color palette and then coordinate from there. Think textures, layers, hats and jewelry!

Where will the photos be taken? Do you have a studio?

The location of the photo session is up to you and what your needs are. However, I do have a studio if you’re looking for an indoor session. Once your photo shoot date is booked we will discuss what type of feel you are looking for in your photographs, we can then work together to come up with the perfect location.

Turnaround time

Do you deliver every image you shoot?

No I do not. I eliminate duplicate images, test shots, missed focused shots, shots with bad expressions and other images that may dilute the overall product delivery.

How many photos do we end up with?

For a 2 hour photo session you will get between 15-30 photos, fully processed.

How long does it take to get my images/prints?

Digital files are normally ready within 1 week from the date of the shoot. Print orders will be completed within four weeks after the product order is submitted.

Do you offer rush-processing?

Yes. If you require rush-processing, a fee of $100.00 will be charged. Additional fees for rush shipping may also apply.

Intellectual property rights

What is copyright?

Copyright is a form of legal protection that gives photographers, artists, musicians, etc., the exclusive right to use, copy and reproduce their works. The Copyright Act is federal law, not state law and, consequently, the law is uniform throughout the United States. Also, since the United States has signed several international copyright agreements, copyright protection is effective essentially all over the world. Generally speaking, owners of copyright have the exclusive right to control the manner, means and methods of using and reproducing their works. And, although copyright owners may choose to authorize others to use their works, the copying, reproducing or using of any work without permission from the creator of the work is a violation of Federal Law.

Who owns the copyright of a photograph once it is taken?

In general, when the shutter is released, the photographer who pressed the button owns the copyright. An exception is when the image falls into the “work-made-for-hire”(also known as “work for hire”) category. Therefore, freelance photographers are subjected to work-for-hire status ONLY when they agree to it contractually.

How do I get permission to use a copyrighted work?

Permission to use a copyrighted work is called a “license” and a license must be obtained from the photographer / copyright owner prior to using or copying the work. It doesn’t have to be a long and complicated contract, but obviously, a clearly written release will help avoid misunderstandings and confusion.

How will my photo(s) be used?

As the photographer and copyright owner, I do reserve the right to use the photos in my portfolio, advertisements, social media, website, and any type of print media. However, if the photos are of a sensitive nature, other contractual arrangements can be made.

Website design/Graphic design

How much does a website cost?

Pricing varies depending on the complexity of the site and the amount of content I’m required to handle. However, most modern websites range from $800 to $2,000 for something nice.

How long does a website take to build?

Most websites take at least 30 days from concept to completion.

Are there any other cost involved?

Yes. You will need to secure your web hosting account with a hosting provider like “Godaddy.” You will also need to purchase your domain name (yourname.com) which can also be purchased with your hosting account.

What do I need to get started?

Please gather all pertenant content that you would like to appear on your site. Common items include: bio, photos, video, contact information, policy information, and a list of your services.

How do I setup my hosting account?

The first step is for you to setup your hosting account with Godaddy.

The information below is intended to help the phone call go a little smoother and give you a better understanding of what to expect.

  • The company you are calling is called “Godaddy”
  • The number is (480) 505-8877
  • Their website is: https://www.godaddy.com/
  • The reason you are calling them is to 1. purchase your name “yourwebsite.com” (or keep the one you have) , 2.website email account, and to 3. pay for a year of “hosting services”. All together you can expect to pay them about $60 – $110 for everything. (this covers you for an entire year with no monthly bill to pay!)
  • Be prepared to make up a password for your account.
  • Have your credit card ready.
  • If they ask what type of hosting you want, tell them a “Linux server with CPanel”

Once you’re finished, just forward me the customer number (that they give you) and the password (that you make up) and I can begin building the site. This is just to build the site, I will not be accessing your credit card information. You will also get a confirmation email from them once you complete the call… you can forward that if it’s easier.
